Be sure to check out the Shodditor’s Big Page-O-Current-Sharity-Covers!
August 30th, 2006
Hey there folks!
Inspired by weirdomusic.com’s great page of sharity album covers, I have created a similar page of current album covers with links to their respective sites here on shoddity.com (there’s a permanent link in the menu to the right). I think I have devised a reasonably low maintenance plan to update the covers, and hope to keep the list current to within a week few days.
Please check it out and let me know what you think. More sites will be added to the page soon, and I am looking for new sites to add to my list, so please leave them in a comment below. Also, let me know if you think I should break the page into smaller more manageable pages, or if you have any other complaints or suggestions.
I hope that this resource will be of service to the sharity community, and help those interested to find new blogs and sources of obscure music.
Best,
The Shodditor

And now for something completely different… a post!
This week’s share is for you kids out there who like the rock-and-roll. You know of whom I speak… yeah you there… with the pompadour and a penchant for kicking the tar out of a jukebox in hopes of scoring some free rock-and-roll music. Cool it Fonzie!
Now if you would please put down the milkshake that you kids are so want to be drinking now days, and listen here… Your parents have decided that it is time that you stopped hanging around that soda joint, and, more importantly, that you should start listening to proper music. To prove that we are cool, we will use the cacophony that you call music as inspiration, except we’ll hire a true musician like, say, Richard Evans to arrange and conduct a real orchestra. We’ll even let a few of those electric guitar musicians play along, but not too loud! If we are lucky, maybe one day you’ll grow up to be upstanding citizens.
Sorry, again, for the delay!

OK… I have finally managed to get the blog onto my own server using wordpress. Blogger was going down often and I had trouble posting at certain times of the day. Now that I have this here, I will probably start messing around with the look again. I have a lineup of fine sharity soon to be posted, so please stay tuned.

The Shodditor

In this weeks share, Bossa Nova collides headlong with a Wurlitzer organ resulting in an easy-jazz implosion of the ultra-mellow. Mr. Bodner makes this collection of hits tame enough for the most demanding ether junky. So sit back, grab your huff cloth and a pair of comfy headphones… it’s time to bring that pulse down to 50bpm.

Oh, this is lounge all right… It may not be the lounge you think of at first, but it is all lounge baby. In the light toe-tapinn’est, dual finger pointingest, full-on accordian-driven way this album says 50’s lounge. I suggest you give it a try.
