While not exactly lounge, this weeks share is 60% exotica, 30% Hawaiian rock and 10% sorrow (Kui Lee died soon after the release of this record). The opening to the first song on the record, “I’ll Remember You”, alone makes this beauty worth the download time. Since I can’t seem to find anything substantial on Jack de Mello, here is a little info on Kui Lee.

Sept. 5, 2006 – Update!: Something substantial on Jack de Mello! Thanks for the link Loungurious!

Aloha!

Many thanks to Steve at scarytoyclown for lending me this record!

Ha cha cha! This weeks share is an earful of Latin American lounge candy.

From the back cover:

“The Caribbean is calling. Palm trees . . . blue skies . . . clear blue water . . . gleaming white beaches . . . sun baked, lazy days . . . cool, action-packed nights . . . moonlight sailing . . . coconuts . . . conchs . . . sponges . . . coral reefs . . . exotic food . . . music and dancing . . . These are the ingredients of a tropical paradise. Add to them an adventurous maid and a bold sir, blend well, and you have the makings of a tropical affair.”

Personally, I think the front cover says it much better. The attractive redhead poured into her bone-tight tablecloth dress. The greasy smarm of the guy who thinks his pink suit shows his sensitive side as he drops the pickup line on red involving her “tracks of land” and his willingness to thoroughly plough them. Then the waiter, who either overheard the whole spiel or he’s caught a glimpse of his own enormous stash in the reflective sheen of Mr. Pink’s quaff. Classic.

Gozar!

July is lounge month at shoddity, and what says lounge better than an organ induced coma administered by Dr. Leonard DeStoppelaire? If I only had a nickle for every Lenny Dee song my father forced me to listen to during the car radio wars of my youth… Of course, I had no idea that I was listening to Lenny Dee at the time since easy listening stations consider it bad show to break a user from their aural trance for something as trivial as announcing artists and song titles.

Not only is this the first in our July lounge series on the site, but this post also marks the first in our scantily clad women on the beach series. So… why not rummage through the medicine cabinet for a couple of smelling salts and then click a link below?
